- Turning * Buffy - Feed, give them blood, the human dies and must be buried before they turn * VD - Feed, give them blood, can be a long process in which case the human gains nightmares and prophetic visions, needs less sleep and their reflection "changes." A living victim of a vampire can also sense "evil" in a turning human. If they have enough vampire blood in their system before they die, they turn.
- Reflections * Buffy - A vampire has no reflection. * VD - A vampire has a reflection, however it is distorted.
- Powers
Specific powers must be approved individually, however Vampire Diaries powers allowed thus far (depending on the vampire, they can only have powers they had in the first place) are as follows:
* Elena - Standard vampire abilities: (telepathic communication between vampires, speed, stealth, sensing other vampires/their emotions and states of mind, agility and appearing in people's dreams) * Katherine - Standard vampire abilities: (telepathic communication between vampires, speed, stealth, sensing other vampires/their emotions and states of mind, agility and appearing in people's dreams), animal forms (owl, kitten and tiger), mind manipulation, weather manipulation
- Invitations
Follows Buffy rules specifically:
* The vampire must be invited directly. * The the inviter must be a resident of the place the vampire is being invited to. * The inviter must be coherent, may be under the thrall of the vampire if that vampire has the ability. * Once a vampire is invited in, they are always invited. * In the instance of in-game lodging, the vampire must be invited to the specific rooms other than their own, invitation rules apply hereon out.
- Weaknesses
* Wood * Fire and sunlight - Vampires may go out in sunlight if they have lapis lazuli on them in some form (ring, necklace, etc), their eyes are still vulnerable to the light, so they are likely to wear sunglasses. * Decapitation * Holy items * Garlic * Vervain
